The Late Mario Taylor honored by St. Augustine Little League

Mario Taylor - 1950's

A Little League dedication ceremony was held to honor Mario Taylor, Sr. on On March 5, 2016. Mario Taylor was a long time supporter of the St. Augustine Little League, an organization he supported since the mid 1950s. Upon his passing, the family asked for donations to be made to the league in lieu of flowers.

“He grew up poor and he loved baseball, but as a child never played on an organized team. … So the first and primary way he gave back was through the St. Augustine Little League,” explained son Rebel Taylor, President of Taylor Refrigeration.

Throughout his life, he donated uniforms, equipment, balls and other items to support the children who played for St. Augustine Little League.  Baseballs for the 2016 season were purchased through funds donated in his name. Rebel was there to accept the award in his name, along with Mrs. Mario Taylor and many extended family members.
